White Board Video

During my Master’s program at Toronto Metropolitan University I took a class on civic engagement and civic tech. This was about 4 years before the pandemic but we were already talking about how, when, and why we might use digital tools to engage the public in planning matters. Looking to experiment with an unfamiliar medium I set up a white board studio in the Toronto apartment I shared with my brother using two speakers, a stack of coffee table books and an empty picture frame.

I had so much fun working on this video. Practicing story-telling techniques and quick-sketch methods were good exercise for future charrettes. I’d love to get the “studio” set up again and do a few more one day!

An empty picture frame straddles two large speakers above a white board on a coffee table. Whiteboard markers, an erasure and mug of coffee also sit on the table.

The whiteboard sudio!
