Neighbourhood Design Code

To support the implementation of a pedestrian-oriented neighbourhood with new housing options and connectivity to surrounding communities I led on the creation of a Neighbourhood Design Code. Founded on the principles of form-based codes, the document presents standards in both described and visual formats to assist builders in block layouts, human-scale building forms, architectural detailing, and the provision of welcoming green space. The result will be a reversal of Joni’s lament: paradise will be recovered from a former mall parking lot.
